DDO The configuration file is empty or missing. Run the installer and select the “Repair” option.

If you are receiving this error:

  1. Acknowledge the message (the launcher will terminate)
  2. Run the DDO installer via the Add/Remove Programs in the Windows Control Panel
  3. Select the "Repair" option
  4. Restart the launcher

Doing so may resolve your concern.

When installed on Windows Vista or 7, the game creates its icon in the "Games" panel.  You can access the Games panel via the start menu. Inside the games panel you should see an icon for DDO.

If for any reason that icon does not display or does not launch the game, you can create one manually by following the steps below:

  1. Click on the Windows "Start" button and choose "Computer" from the list
  2. In there double-click on your C: drive (may display as "Local Disk C")
  3. Double-click on "Program Files" (note: if you see "Program Files (x86)" double-click on that one instead)
  4. In that folder double-click on the "Turbine" folder and then the "Dungeons and Dragons Online" folder

In that folder look for "TurbineInvoker.exe" (it might display without the .exe but it will be the one listed as an "application" and will have the red DDO "shield" icon).

Right-click on that file and choose "Send to" > "Desktop (Create Shortcut)" and that will create a desktop shortcut to launch the game from.
